Tesla is reportedly working on an official Apple Watch app that will function as a digital key for Tesla vehicles, according to hidden code found in the latest version of Tesla’s iPhone app. This feature will allow Apple Watch users to unlock and control their cars remotely, similar to how iPhone users have been able to use their devices as car keys for some time.

While unofficial third-party Apple Watch apps have offered this functionality in the past, this would be Tesla’s first official Apple Watch app. Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously hinted at being open to developing such an app, and this code suggests that it’s currently in development. However, there is no confirmed release date for the app at this time.
