In a major move for music creators, Apple Music has announced it will now allow DJs to craft custom mixes using its massive catalog of over 100 million songs. This new capability comes through integrations with top DJ software and hardware, including Algoriddim’s djay Pro, Serato, Engine DJ, Denon DJ, Numark, RANE DJ, and AlphaTheta platforms.
This update gives both professional and aspiring DJs direct access to Apple Music’s streaming library within their preferred DJ tools—unlocking new creative possibilities for live sets, mashups, and practice mixes.
New DJ-Friendly Features Launched
Alongside the integration, Apple Music is introducing a new “DJ with Apple Music” section. This includes:
- Curated DJ-friendly playlists
- Pages highlighting supported DJ software and hardware
- Ready-to-mix sets for inspiration and experimentation
“Apple Music is committed to supporting DJs,” said Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes. “This integration brings the full power of Apple Music into the creative workflow—making it easier than ever to access, mix, and discover music in real time.”
Part of a Growing Trend in Music Tools
Apple’s move comes amid growing competition to make music streaming platforms more creator-friendly. SoundCloud recently launched tools for remixing and sampling, while Spotify is reportedly exploring similar features. Startups like Hook are also entering the space, aiming to create legal markets for remixes.
Apple Music first introduced streaming for DJ mixes in 2021, and now hosts thousands of sets. With this latest upgrade, Apple is signaling it’s ready to go all-in on helping DJs craft and perform dynamic mixes—legally, seamlessly, and at scale.
Whether you’re a club veteran or bedroom beginner, the beat just got a lot more accessible.
